Your Chakras and Food checklist.

Your chakras are different colours and they require different foods. So here is a basic list is to help you when you are feeling down, low on confidence, feeling depressed or low on energy.

Red for Energy (Root Chakra)

If you are feeling run down, fatigued , burnt out, lazy or lethagic, red foods such as strawberries, tomatoes, raspberries and beets will help to boost your energy levels and body temperature.

Orange for Confidence & Self-Worth (Sacral Chakra)

If you are low on confidence, doubting yourself or feeling unworthy of love , get yourself some oranges and do it fast! Things like mandarins, mangoes, carrots, squash, pumpkin and yams will all make a big impact on your feelings.

Yellow for Joy (Solar Plexus Chakra)

If you are feeling depressed, sad, or emotional, hook yourself up with some bananas, sweet corn on the cob, some fresh pineapple, some yellow peppers and watch how your mood changes. Yellow is a natural mood enhancer. so skip the prozac or the bottle of red wine and make yourself something bright!

Green for Rejuvention (Heart Chakra)

Feeling low on vital energy? Are you stressed? Overworked? Experiencing adrenal fatique, Then green is the colour for you! Throw your favourite organic greens into a juicer or make a gigantic salad and feel what happens to your feelings of stress. Likely they will melt away due to the live enzymes, oxygen and chlorophyll.

Blue/ Black for Calming (Throat Chakra)

Experiencing anxiety? Enjoy a bowl of blueberries or blackberries. Blue black foods help to tonify the kidneys and help to elicit honest communication.

Violet for Peace (Third- Eye Chakra)

These foods will help you to calm you energy and bring you peace if you are feeling frustrated, angry or unable to forgive. Foods like eggplant, purple kale, concord grapes, purple carrots etc., will help you to bring you peace and calm! Whip up a fresh smoothie with your favourite purple foods!

White for Strength (Crown Chakra)

Things like mushrooms, garlic, ginger, onion, lychee, coconut and other tropical fruits help to give you strength, and power.If you are feeling defeated or down on yourself then enjoy some white foods and experience a surge in your own inner strength.

I am only talking about the major chakras here and these are only suggestions. Use as fresh as possible The thing to remember is these are energy centers and your food is energy.

When you eat a diet that is high in life force energy then your chakras will be larger and clearer.

The substances that negatively our Chakras are alcohol, caffeine, chocolate, cigarettes/cigars, drugs of any kind and red meat. Now moderation for anything is the key and also natural is also key.

These are just suggestions but knowing this will also make you aware of the colours that you are eating. Often when I need courage I find myself eating foods that affect my lower chakras.

So get creative and start thinking about your food choices in a different way.
